WHAT IS PATH ?

Chinese Philosophical Psychology For The Modern Self

PATH (Psychology of Alignment Toward Harmony) is a psychological framework rooted in Chinese philosophical traditions: Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism. It conceptualizes human well-being as the dynamic alignment of thoughts, emotions, identity, relationships, and life circumstances.

PATH Psychotherapy — the clinical application of this framework — guides individuals from rigid identity patterns and emotional avoidance toward inner freedom, relational harmony, and balanced engagement with life.

We see suffering as a loss of alignment. Through awareness, emotional acceptance, and integration, people restore harmony within themselves and in how they live.

WHY INNER QUEST CENTRE?

Between East and West

For years, psychotherapy in Asia borrowed heavily from Western methods. CBT. Behaviourism. Classic psychodynamic approaches. These tools help, but they often miss the deeper layers of Asian experience: filial responsibility, face, collective identity, unspoken grief, and the way spirituality quietly shapes every decision.

Inner Quest Centre exists as a meeting place between East and West, between psychology and philosophy, between healing and meaning. Every person has a story that deserves to be understood, not judged.

Words From Those We've Work With

— Former drug addict, age 30, who has ten year "drug career

"PATH gave me the feeling as if my life is just starting again. My life thus far has been lived as one big lie to myself I have discovered abilities within me which have been hidden away and never used. ...Six months have past since my PATH and quite a lot has changed for me. I am getting along better with my fellow man and in particular with my parents. I have learned amongst other things to notice and appreciate the small things in life, and my urge to use drugs has for the greater part disappeared."

— Former colleague, Airbnb APAC Safety

"Dr. Ivan created space for growth, compassion, and strength for all of us. He was an oasis in a crazy safety environment."
